@Komori231 Your profile looks good. The one photo of you at the movies with (I assume) the grandkids - I would move that one up earlier than pets where you are not interacting with the pets. That photo with the kids certainly grabbed my attention. 
I just did a search for your area for sits and there’s one this month but, as a new member, I wouldn’t take that one on. However, there’s one in August with no applications that’s less than a week for two cats. This would allow you more freedom and would be a good starter. The owner has many great reviews and also gives detailed and kind reviews to her sitters. That’s particularly important for you at this stage.
Oops - I missed that you are applying in Montana. I would still aim for a sit close by for one of your early sits, especially if you can visit in person before agreeing to the sit. This would depend on distance and convenience to you both, of course.
I often choose sits that have 0 applications or are last minute postings to build up my street cred. This works well for me.
I would move your experience with your own cats and caring for your children’s dogs up to the My Experience category. I believe caring for livestock is much different than caring for pets. And then talk about your experience with those pets. Walking them, how you entertain them, etc.
I agree with @Makelikeanapeman that owning two cats and looking after your children’s dogs should go under “my experience”.
Although the care for livestock is different, it is still relevant experience for house sitting, you should also mention what type of farm animals you have experience with.
I would also suggest adding how long (roughly) you have owned your home and pets or if you have previously owned other pets. I would develop that a bit because it’s something valuable that should be emphasized. Owning a home and pets shows that you have dealt with all kinds of situations associated.

Being new I would suggest applying for several sits at one time. That way you are not getting your hopes up or focusing on one sit as it seems to bother you that you were not chosen after applying for only two sits as a newbie. The first thing I would expand is the experience section of your profile. That is the first thing the hosts see and it is not very inviting. There is a platform for people to work on ranches and I think it is called Woof. Here people want you to sit with their house pets who are part of the family and treated differently than livestock. Start with you live with your wife who will not be joining you as she is working and two adorable cats. A quick two sentence cute comment about the cats that is relatable to cat lovers looking for sitters. Then talk about how you watch your son’s dogs and mention the breed or size. Write how you interact with them. “ Max always beats me at tug of war so I’m trying to step up my game.” Then close with farm animals and what kind. Some people have chickens here that need watching but not cows. I find your profile reads dry. If you send out 15 application and rejected for all of those there is a problem not after two.
I’d like to add that it will make your profile more inviting and your experience with pets more evident if you add real pictures of pets that you have experience with. One of my favourite sits, where I got the most glowing review, started because the host had seen the picture of my niece’s chihuahua a d knew I was familiar with the breed.
