New owner with no applicants seeking help

No applicants yet @Smiley but none of the suggested amends have been made on the listing either. #waitinggame

They have only spent 5 mins reading the forum - that’s since they joined the forum on 19 Feb !!!
and they haven’t been back to the forum since they posted 2 days ago.

You wonder sometimes why we waste our time. Actually, you spend a lot of time helping out and giving sound advice! I just chip in now and again!:joy:

The person could have read the answers without being logged in and having gotten useful information didn’t feel the need to come back and thank those who provided it.

Also don’t forget that good advice and tips aren’t only going to benefit the thread starter, lots of people read and are able to utilize what is written on this forum.

Hi All,

Thank you to everyone for the excellent and tailored advice. I have gotten all the responses in my email, and also had my cell phone die, thus I had not had a chance to log in and thank everyone.

I do very much appreciate each person’s time and effort to review my listing and I will update soon. Hoping I will be able to help others along the way.

With gratitude,

Alison

Also, taking down my listing today to make the updates (in case someone looks at the thread - my listing link will not be active).

As a former Home/Pet Owner and now long-time Sitter here is what I notice:

(1) Location, please include your actual town but also something that might be more familiar to Sitters from other areas. For example, if the Post reads:

Kitties & Cottage in Tiddlywink, UK that isn’t very helpful at a glance for location & implies it might be 6-month old kittens in a tiny house in the Boonies.

Better: most people will know where you are, and what to expect of the cats

Independant Cats, Charming House between Oxford & Bristol.

(2) Be sure to include places near you that are interesting, be sure to include if there is a train or bus station nearby for arrival/departure and/or if there is parking for a car.

(3) Be sure to include IF you are willing to host a sitter the night before you depart, and IF you want to them to stay through the night after you return. Increasingly important with so many changes with transportation happening that are out of the control of Sitters & Hosts.

(4) Be sure to inlude info about any special needs - but also why the Sitters will enjoy the sit.

(5) Note what the Sitters can expect for Accom

This shows you’re a welcoming host:

“Guest Room with comfy bed for two, closet & drawer space, separate bathroom, well set-up kitchen.”

Hope this is helpful!

I see that you’re reviewing applications so must have got the maximum 5. Hopefully you’ll be sorted
