Surely the HOs are not obligated to provide housing because they need to come home to their house?

Premium membership for the sitter would’ve given some sort of cover.

I think if I was the HO I’d give a brief explanation of why and apologise for inconvenience.

If the situation was in reverse and the sitter had to leave would they pay for a sitter?

Ideally, yes in both cases. But in reality, people tend to be selfish and unaccountable so in both of those scenarios the innocent party is going to have to fend for themselves most of the time.
