BTW, THS terms don’t allow pets that have bitten people before, so you couldn’t just warn sitters to not pet cats (or dogs) that have such histories. You could be booted from the platform for such a listing.
It’s not a suggestion, it’s a fact that the law forbids certain breeds in certain countries and THS abide by the laws of the country where the sit takes place. Apart from that, everyone is free to choose the breeds they want to sit as everyone is free to choose the sitter they want to offer a sit to.
Yes, many of us have seen similar stats from various sources. And it makes sense for THS to abide by laws forbidding certain breeds. Plus, to rule out pets that have bitten before.
It’s normal for businesses to take steps to protect their brand. Because for instance, they wouldn’t want attacks associated with their company if they’re easily avoidable via common sense, not just because of laws.
Many companies refuse to serve certain customers, simply because they don’t have to serve everyone, as long as they don’t violate discrimination laws aimed at protecting say civil rights.
Companies aren’t meant to serve people universally. Many have their own target demographics for users, aimed at growing their business how they see fit.
