I know that feeling only too well. We always made a point of tidying up before trips, as returning home to a messy house, especially late at night, was never very uplifting. Each time, just before departure, I found myself regretting leaving my lovely, tidied-up home and wishing I could have stayed to enjoy it.

Funny enough, I once posted in a THS-related forum about the work that goes into a HOâs preparation before the trip and I got overwhelmingly chastised for âcomplaining about doing things that I would do anywayâ. 
Yes, I know that I will eventually clean every nook and cranny of my home, but not necessarily all within the same few days! Anyway, I enjoy getting my place ship-shape and let the sitters know that I donât expect that same level of cleanliness by the time I get back.

We clean quite well in preparation for sitters.
All we ask is that they clean up after themselves.
That includes cleaning toilets that they use.
Itâs a bummer coming home to a house that clearly wasnât cleaned by the sitters.
