Yes @systaran Eurostar passport seems much easier. Or it was travelling from the UK to the Netherlands. The lady on passport control at st pancras for entry to the schengen zone just stamped my passport. Where I’ve been asked some questions before on entry to any schengen countries before.
And I am sure that he was watching your daughter for any reaction. And that you would have gotten more questions if the officer had then suspected possible trafficking.
It does not depend much on what officer you talk to.
They’ll profile you on a whole lot of “risk factors”, and will be on the lookout for anything that tips you into one of those factors, even if the question itself is very innocent-seeming.
I got A LOT of grief entering as a 20yo in the pre-egate days. Part of that was my own naivety: I was genuinely travelling for fun and to see family and friends, but being young I was playing fast and loose with bookings and plans and knowing the addresses of family and friends I planned to have a pint with. I suspect the older you are and the more you can do to show you have ties elsewhere so don’t plan on working, the better. I’ve also heard it’s harder to get back in on a tourist visa after the recent expiration of a work visa.
In any case, sticking to the egates if your passport allows is best.
