American, widowed, non-smoking, and fully vaccinated, I am a patchwork art quilter, teacher and author with an unusual life story. I have pets around me all the time. During the 32 years I’ve lived in Kenya, I’ve looked after 8 Dalmatians (bred 2 litters) and more cats than I can count (most of them from Lamu), including the two now with me in Nairobi. I’ve also raised a baby hippo, rescued birds and small mammals, and coped with snakes and scorpions in the house. I used to ride horses, too.
