Hello, we’re Lynda & Pete and have only been registered as sitters with THS for just over a month. We are both very active retirees and have had dogs (always rescued, usually two at a time and generally big) for almost the past forty years. We sadly lost our last dog in April and have decided that we now want some ‘us’ time, but also still want to have contact with animals. After just 30 minutes of completing our profile and ‘going live’ we were invited to do a sit! It was for two weeks but we were only free to do the first week - which the HO was happy about and has secured someone else for the second week. As they are only 30 minutes away, we are going to visit them in a couple of weeks. We now have five sits arranged, which takes us through into October this year. The first two are up in Northumberland / Border country and when we were up there on a recent holiday we took the opportunity to visit both families and their pets. We are currently putting together our own version of a Welcome document and have told all our HO’s that we will be emailing it to them. They don’t have to complete it, just be aware of the questions we need answering, and we will then go through it with them, nearer to the time of the sit. Our very first sit is in three weeks time and we’re very excited and can’t wait to get started. We lived in France for ten years but have now been back in the UK for nine. If this year proves successful in our house sitting experiences then we may be tempted to travel further afield in 2025!
