Hi there!
I am recently retired as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Eugene after 30 years in healthcare. It was very satisfying work but the timing was good as I am ready for new experiences and adventures. I particularly love being outdoors, seeing new natural areas, birds and wildlife, hiking and rafting. I have also loved traveling in Europe and Central America and hope to go back in the future ,as well as other States here and Canada. We were birding in Belize in December and it was a favorite trip. I am a slow but avid reader too.
My husband and I have three adult children, two still in “launch” phase, as we started late in life-twins are 24 and youngest is 22. The twins live here, which is wonderful, the youngest in Denver.
I am a native Oregonian and love the PNW although I find myself more worried about our drought and warming temps. I am a native plant enthusiast and birder, so hoping our garden and threatened birds survive. I don’t think there is any place not facing the same threats…
My husband is nearly retired, still works as a medical provider part time, and he also loves the outdoors, hiking, ice hockey, and tolerates me dragging him along on birding expeditions!
We both also love theater and fortunately Eugene has a few venues that survived the pandemic. Some restaurants, like everywhere, have not been so fortunate. Eugene is hosting the World Championship Athletic competition this summer in a new amazing stadium.
We have two adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, siblings, who are 2, and a middle aged cat. We got the pups just as the pandemic was about to take off, so lucked out there. They helped us through it.
That’s probably enough about me. I look forward to reading more from all of you and am soooo glad to have found THS!
