I’m a retiree and a former homeowner (owned for 18 years). I was a paid house sitter for 8 years and I really liked it. Sure wish I’d known that housesitting in exchange for free accommodation was a “thing”, back then.

Since I’ve been sitting through the TH platform, I’ve met some great people and made some new furry friends. I’ve also found that I prefer housesitting in exchange for accommodation, for several reasons.

I also LOVE that I save a TON of money on hotel and Airbnb stays (very important for those of us on fixed incomes), and that I’ve been able to avoid the risk of overstaying my welcome with friends when visiting. You know, the guests and fish analogy, LOL.
