I am a native of Detroit, MI but have lived all over the US. I am now living in Chicago after a long stint in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am an alumna of Spelman College and received my doctorate in Philosophy from Emory University, also in Atlanta, GA. I am an avid crafter and maker (one of those people who actually likes putting together Ikea furniture ). My passions are textiles (everything from design and sewing to spinning and weaving), I also love to work in clay. I am a voracious reader (especially Black speculative fiction-think Octavia Butler). I have traveled throughout Europe, China (studied there in college and grad school), Malaysia, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, Nigeria, and Canada thus far. Presently I work remotely as an Executive Director for a non-profit organization.
