We are Marianne and Brian, a German/English couple now living in southern Portugal. Over ten years ago we decided to make a dream reality: quit the stresses of commuting to London and start a new life in France, where we created a tourism business from scratch.

After 8 years of being hosts at our beautiful Chambre d’Hotes and Gite in the French Pyrenees, we felt we had one more adventure in us. We sold the property in France in 2020 and moved to Southern Alentejo in Southwest Portugal to downsize and to start the next chapter in our lives.

We both love walks with our dogs, cycling, being in nature, travelling and new projects.

I am a Berliner by birth, with an inborn wanderlust, and a natural linguist speaking four and a half languages: German, English, French, a bit of Spanish and now finding a new challenge in learning Portuguese

I enjoy cooking vegetarian meals, we have both been veggies for many years! I love baking and making my own bread. I also practice yoga regularly.

Because our families are living in the UK, Germany and the US we go away on one or two longer trips each year to visit them. We don’t like to put our dogs in kennels due to them being rescues and much prefer having house and dogsitters when we are away, so that the dogs can stay in their familiar surroundings.
