My husband and I live in western Canada, where the snow and very cold stays from Thanksgiving until Easter or so. (January usually hits -40 so you know we love to get away to warmer climes at least once in the winter!)

I am an author (7 books published - check out https://www.thefew.world ) and was made non-essential in my work as a Chaplain when the pandemic hit. My husband is the Lead Pastor of a small town church (www.delislecommunitychurch.com), but plans to retire in the next couple of years.

Once we are both retired, we would love to consider doing THS fulltime, as we love to travel and by then our two old dogs will most likely no longer be alive, but we can still enjoy the pets of others while seeing new places. We have lived in 3 countries, traveled to over 40 countries, and are comfortable meeting new people, pets and places.

We have always had dogs, and sometimes cats, gerbils, horses, rabbits and even ducks when our children were small, but our current two companions are a yellow Labrador Retriever who is 8 years old, and a Havanese/Poodle who is almost 15. The lab was a rescue at a year old and is now 8 with cancer (even though he has outlived his prognosis, we know we won’t have him much longer), and the Havapoo has been at my side since she was 2 months and she is now about to turn 15. The sad reality is that they will likely both be gone by the time hubby retires in 2 years. Currently if we travel, our son, an experienced house/pet sitter, stays at our house and cares for them.

We are both relatively fit seniors, and love to walk, hike, and even swim, and we fit into most new places fairly easily. I love to try to speak new languages, and love to cook new foods - and my husband Herb loves to eat my cooking. (He is a little shy to try a new language.) We both enjoy reading, and I love to paint furniture and he loves to ride motorcycles (he has over 1 million miles on BMW motorcycles and has ridden on 5 continents).

Our son spent over a year on a RTW trip where he used THS extensively. He had a wide variety of experiences, but loved this connection to a home and pets while exploring new countries. I think the most memorable was a huge estate in Australia where he took care of 7 dogs, 5 cats and 2 birds. He had wonderful reviews and sat for some people more than once. He highly recommended THS, so we are now eagerly looking to see where we might be able to sit anywhere in the world.

We are both fully vaccinated, and are cautious (but not fearful).
We looking forward to being in your home sometime in the near future.
