Stefanie
Hi! I’m Stefanie, I was born in a little town on the coast of the Netherlands. When growing up I was always surrounded by animals, either the pets we had ourselves, or the animals I was saving. I always made my mother sigh when I came home, carrying home some wounded or sick animal.
In our home we had cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, fish, birds and my horse Cindy. And of course the occassional animal I rescued.
When I got older and moved out of my parents house, I had a cat named Cuddles. In 2002 I volunteered in Durban South Africa, at the Center for Rehabilitation of Wildlife, where I got to take care of more exotic animals, before they were released into the wild again (when possible).
Later on in life I had a Sharpei dog, my beloved Ecko, who I still miss to this day! After he died in 2015 I was too brokenhearted to have a pet for a long while, but I would still always be the person at a party to say hello to the pets first though. Some things never change.
Now it’s time for a new chapter in my life. In the coming years I will travel the world as a digital nomad and combine this with house sitting, so I get to enjoy being around animals again and work online from the houses I am looking after.
In my free time I love to do some photography, with wildlife photography in (Southern) Africa being my favourite. Surprising isn’t it?
