We’ve been full-time housesitters for three years now. Many aspects of your post resonate - especially commitment to sit (we’ve never cancelled); selective mindset (we use structured, direct video calls and are unquestionably selective); and appreciative (of good pet parents and housesit concept).
One of our realizations is that sheer diversity within the housesitter community - in terms of personal situation, listing preferences and housesitting objectives.
Something works as, other than a few days, we’re fully booked until mid October. Yikes! Mostly lovely housesits of approx one month duration, with a few calendar fillers.
