Sure do. Bella in the red coat and Hugo in Blue. He is totally besotted with her but she plays it very cool with him. Maybe after 10 weeks with him she might have warmed up a bit.
You just made my whole week a lot better with this pic! Currently moving houses, down with a cold and I feel better now, thank you! Hahaha and loving their love story.
I have had some amazing hosts. One that was only a weekend, they filled the fridge with food I liked that would last me for more than a weekend. They also owned a health club nearby, where I could use any equipment I wanted there but only used the swimming pool but I could also have a free meal and a drink in their restaurant there each day. Another sit and I was given a voucher for a free cream tea at a posh restaurant. Most places I have arrived the night before and either had yummy meals cooked for me, or taken out for a meal. Most have food in the fridge that i can use. And normally I am told I can help myself to things such as rice/past condiments etc. Have had some say I can help myself to anything including in the freezer. Have had a couple say I can help myself to wine also. I have had the odd bottle left at others, as well as boxes of chocolates. Also had gifts bought for me on return. Most host have been very generous. There have only been a couple where I have found an empty fridge and nothing left at all.
So many great hosts (and sitters). And all of what has been written, I’ve experienced and appreciated.
But a few that were extra special-
-Pre-covid, I’d scheduled a 6 week string of sits that would have taken me around the world - starting with 2 weeks in Hong Kong, then 2 weeks near Goteborg, Sweden, then a few UK sits and finishing with a Seattle sit in the US before heading home.
Of course covid put an end to all that - but when the Goteborg HO cancelled her trip, she told me that if I had a non-refundable ticket and ‘had’ to travel to Sweden, that her boyfriend would stay with her for the 2 scheduled weeks and I could have his apartment. Of course, no one traveled international then, but much appreciated offer.
-And a Sussex, UK sit with a pair of mini-schnauzers and chickens. Told to help myself to food in the house and all the eggs I could eat, but especially invited to try out sausage in the freezer that had came from the 2 pigs they had recently slaughtered. If the sit had been a few months earlier, I would have been sitting the pigs and not eating them. And the house was especially interesting - oldest part dated to the 15th century, the a few 18th and 20th century rooms and my bedroom and bath had just been finished the month before - I was the first person to sleep in the bedroom and shower in the bathroom - nice story to tell.
-Sitting over NYEs 2x and being invited by friends of the HOs to NYE parties.
Sorry to hear that you are feeling rough, get well soon.
Thanks have to go to @Maggie8K for starting this heartwarming thread. I think it is great so show that there are so many fantastic experiences on THS as generally, (as is par for the course on socials these days) we mostly hear the dramas, and don’t get me wrong it is great to have a safe space to vent too but it is good to be reminded (especially during dark times) that people generally are and want to be good people. Having spent the last few months in New Zealand and Bali it has been spirit lifting to meet so many lovely, kind and generous spirited people.
On my last sit my hosts paid for a nice hotel room for me to stay in the night before the sit began. They left me a supermarket gift card and a box of chocolate truffles too! All this and it was only a five day sit. With all of that the house was clean and the pets were all friendly and easy. I can’t wait to go back.
