Advice re my listing

Hi all,

We’re going away in a couple of weeks and having trouble attracting applicants. I’d love any suggestions for how I could improve my listing to be more appealing.

Thanks in advance!

You have a lovely looking house & nice sounding pets @nu17-uG plus some great reviews so off to a flying start! Things that are missing are length of Mavis’ walks, where she and the cats sleep, why you need a car when it says accessible by public transport. You’ll attract more sitters if they don’t have to have a vehicle. Sitters from overseas aren’t keen on the US at the moment due to border issues so numbers of applicants are down generally. You need to add a bathroom pic, a few less cat photos to work through and possibly a more grabbing headline like “Welcoming comfy home for history lovers & walkers.” Or similar. The pets are a given and listed as icons. All this should help a little and then you can pause and repost & you’ll be back as “new” on THS which adds appeal. Hope that helps. #lovelylookingsit

@nu17-uG I suggest you complete the Amenities section. Some sitters will pass you by if that’s not completed as the information is needed to assess whether it’s a good fit for them.

Thank you so much! These are great suggestions and I’ll work on them today. We’ve been THS members for a while and never had trouble finding sitters til the last 6 months or so, so i hadn’t been thinking about how I could improve our listing. Thanks again!

The responsibilities section is rather too detailed and busy, so put most of this in your welcome guide leaving just a brief description for each animal type. Take note of and use your sitter Robert’s wording he says it nicely.

Thank you, Bonny!

spot on. I just see Words, words and more words. nobody needs that much info until either the confirmed sit welcome guide, or the video call. LESS is More.
