So true. The thing is, I don’t mind helping them in various ways if they’re Gracious. Sometimes you don’t know they’re ingrates until you see the review. Then it’s too late to do anything about it.
Make that response to the review super smart, succinct, accurate & unemotional and clever people will see who’s telling the real story. #gogetem @LFM
Yes, I always check the reviews left for other sitters. It can tell you a lot about HOs
I’m retired but I also act as a tour guide in my city and quite often will get 4* from people who say they ‘never give 5*’ I’ve started to say now at the start of my walking tours that 5* impacts on the algorithm on the platform that I use (MeetUp). The same people often give me big Tips in appreciation after the tour has finished. One guy told me 4* stops tour guides being ‘complacent’ and keeps us striving to be better…. I think it’s something to do with corporate workplace psychology feeding into more relational interactions maybe.
@BonnyinBrighton I’m sure if the shoe was on the other foot, those 4* reviewers would NOT be happy at all.
Or some smart Alec who has never worked in the service, tourism or hospitality industry @BonnyinBrighton #soannoying
Yup. Those folks also give me a creepy sense of people who like to lord over others, enjoy uneven power dynamics.
