Oh, I have zero intention of ever “upgrading.”
@pitcherplant I’m also a legacy member (9+ years), but as a sitter. I see another sitter with a basic (lowest level) membership regularly mentioning that they get 10 saved searches on the website and 3 on the app. No matter what I do, I only get three saved searches. If I try for a fourth on the website I get a message that I’ve reached my limit.
As legacy members, we appear to have less benefits than the lowest-level membership tier. A strange way to treat longstanding, loyal members, including having stayed paying their membership throughout the pandemic, as I have done.
Edited at request of @Snowbird: See posts 23 & 24 for clarification.
@Snowbird If you were talking about me (basic sitter membership): max three on on the web interface, and I have those as area searches on the map.
Max ten on the app.
But not max 13 in total. Although these two kinds of Saved searches are different beasts, generating different kinds of alerts, they are on the same list.
When I want to change a web search, I first need to delete the searches on the app.
And to not go totally off topic: the app notifications are quite useless, as about half of them give that stupid white list of my searches, even when I click within ten seconds. I suspect the bots are faster.
@pietkuip I was but didn’t want to single you out. It seems as though I have it reversed then. I was convinced I could only do three saved searches in total. However, I just tried on the app and see that I can go past three. Thank you so much - that will be really helpful. @pitcherplant
@Carla please edit my post #21 to reference this so that I don’t lead others astray.
Has anyone been approached outside of THS from a non-member sitter?
I previously had the IG handle for the account I only post pics of my dog so that potential sitters can see more pics if interested and learn more about his personality. Apparently someone’s friend sent this person the link to my listing and they reached out to me on IG. I let them know that they can apply on THS if they’re interested and the response was, “I don’t have a THS account – I’m a student, like my friend, and don’t have the resource currently to purchase a subscription.”
I’ve since removed that IG handle from my listing, but now see that listings are public to anyone. Even without a membership. That seems unnecessary and uncomfortable.
The world can see what my home looks like, the general area where I live, and when I won’t be home.
Why are listings public instead of only viewable for members?
What is IG?
@HelloOutThere Instagram …
Gotcha. Thank you.
I don’t do IG.
Are our listings on IG available through THS somehow? Do you know?
@HelloOutThere Not unless you put your IG handle in your THS profile as far as I’m aware.
