I committed to a sit near Asheville NC for the end of November and waited until recently to inquire with the HO about the condition of their home. She replied that everyone is okay and they didn’t suffer any damages except for fallen trees. She seemed surprised that I asked if she still wanted me to house/pet sit. Sure, after all, the Biltmore Estate is scheduled to reopen on November 2nd.
I’m surprised she’s surprised given that many people did have extensive damage up to and including losing whole houses and lives. She was lucky, many were not.
