The grievance we hope will not fizzle out, maintain your voice, you’ve paid to be member.
I hope they continue to let off steam. It’s just not right. Ask HomeOwner who is in win-win situation, but not the volunteers.
A business can run however its management chooses to run it. Not a matter of right or wrong.
Membership is voluntary. Of those who complain, those that refuse to accept it will leave, they are probably a small number. The rest -who recognize a good value when they see one- will pipe down and pay the fee. Or upgrade their memberships.
Please … where do you go on trust pilot to comment. Thank you
just type in your search bar: trust pilot Trusted House Sitters and it will come up. Once there at the top you will see “write a review”
Have you cancelled your automatic renewal?
I have not. I have a sit coming up in March and I do not want to cancel it or ask to go off platform. This is a new host for me and I don’t want to be weird. I may change my mind in a few days. It isn’t a highly desirable sit for me, but I also dislike canceling with folks. I am in a real bind. I really wish we had had more notice about this!! Has anyone successfully renewed for just 3 months? So not a full year?
PS are you a fan of Lyle Lovett?
Cancelling your automatic renewal does not cancel your membership. Your membership continues until the end. And then you will get a notice to renew and if you don’t you will be parked for 3 months before it is removed.
Yes, I am a fan of Lyle Lovett (how perceptive of you). The first time I tried to use “Ponyonaboat” it was already taken (lots of people out there with good taste) so I opted for my current one.
Before what is removed? If you are referring to the member’s profile, this is contrary to what I’ve read, which is the profile is not deleted for up to 2 years after a membership expires and can be reactivated during that time period.
You are probably right. I thought I had read that somewhere… I would have to find it to confirm so I’ll take your word for it.
I took somebody else’s word for it. ![]()
Yes, but my issue is that I have a sit booked in March and my autorenewal is in Jan. When I went to remove autorenewal I could not do so unless I cancel my upcoming sit. So in a couple of weeks my membership will renew for a whole year when I would really like to only pay through March. Does that make sense? Am I missing something obvious? How can I complete this sit and cancel starting 4/1?
That seems like a sticky wicket.
Have you tried contacting member services/sign-up?
When I cancelled auto renewal I was told my account would be put on hold for three months. I am not sure what happens after those three months. It’s also true that some members have got their profile back when signing up again after as long as two years.
Hi Steve; Yesterday Newpetlover brought up the the 3-month topic. That is probably where I got that 3 month thing… when I cancelled my auto-renewal. See… I’m not crazy
.
I think I’ve figured out what the three months is about. When you cancel auto renewal, the offer a 20% discount or to put the account on hold for three months, in fact, they automatically set the new renewal date three months later.
I just found that 3 month thing. It is when I cancelled my auto-renewal that I got the 3 month message. If you want to see it you just start the cancellation (you don’t have to finish the process).
