Do I look or do I wait

I agree with others’ suggestions. To help you organize your changes, let’s focus on different aspects:

  • Title. . Go with @Cuttlefish suggestion or something similar. It has to be shorter with important information in the first few words so that everyone can read it at a glance and be tempted to open your listing.
  • **Pictures **. They should be inviting. Worth taking them when the house is tidy and at its best.
  • Home and location You should write info about the house (how big it is, where the sitters will sleep, general facilities) and location (attractions in the area, distance and accessibility, where to get groceries, what there is in walkable distance)
  • **Responsibilities ** Rather than saying what you do, say what you need the sitters to do regarding Nash care and house maintenance, they can have breakfast and biscuits when they choose, what’s relevant is when Nash needs to be fed and walked, some flexibility is usually appreciated and regarded as the owner being mindful of sitter’s needs. It’s important to mention how long Nash can be left alone.
  • Security camera It’s listed in the amenities section. Can you add “outdoor”?. I assume it’s outdoor as indoor cameras and all types of recording devices are against THS terms.
    - Matching process You may also want to follow the advice regarding the process of filtering applications, communication with sitters, handover, etc.

I see there’s still plenty of time to improve your listing and get great sitters.

I hope this helps and don’t hesitate to ask any questions you may have during the process.

Best of luck.

Thank you for linking your listing @Jmwhy68.
Your profile does need more work and I am guessing that 99.9% of members don’t even know where Bulwell is and you don’t give any information about what is available in the area.

If you are indeed near Nottingham you could mention your proximity to the airport and M1 motorway. Some sitters come from abroad.

Does a sitter need their own transport?
You say you are family friendly but where would the family sleep?
Is there just the one bedroom?
You say there is a dedicated workspace - show it in your listing.

Take a look at listings for sits in your area and you will see the competition you are up against. It will also give you an idea of the information you need to give to potential sitters.

It isn’t always about how ‘grand’ a house is but whether it will be a safe, clean and welcoming environment. Sitters need to know more about the dog’s routine and behaviours to enable them to make an informed decision.

Sitters also pay a membership and don’t get paid. They will pay their own expenses to travel to your property and take on responsibility for Nash. They need to know more about what they are getting in exchange.

Yes, you’ve received some good feedback here.
Perhaps I am mistaken but I have the feeling you didn’t do a ton of research before posting your listing because you’d have learned that some of the bigger issues that comes up often for sitters is;

  1. Plenty of good, clear, detailed photos of each room in the house (think more along the lines of airbnb photos)
  2. a clean and tidy home free of clutter
Unless your apartment/home is in London, Paris, Lisbon, Nice or Manhattan, people are looking for a neat and welcoming place to stay while caring for your dog.
That said, sitters also want to know what the home will look like when they arrive. So if those photos are what they can expect, then best to leave it as is though I dare say you will struggle to have applicants.
I wouldn’t say you’ve wasted your money, I’d say you may not have researched THS as well as you might have before joining to see if this is the right place for you.

@Jmwhy68 Link states ‘Listing not available’?

Because I removed it was fed up with all the horrible comments.

People have put a lot of time and effort checking your listing and sharing years of experience in a nutshell, saving you the effort of searching all that.

What the forum can’t do is change your listing, your house, location or pet’s needs.

You opened two threads asking for advice and linked your listing so that people could suggest improvements but if you are fed up with comments (horrible or not), you can ask moderators to close this thread.

It’s you thread, your listing and your home, so your choice.

Whatever you choose to do. Good luck.

I’m sorry you saw it that way.

My impression of the forum is that fellow members put a lot of effort in to helping each other get good matches, also by providing advice on listings of possible improvements if a fellow member - like you - ask for help. But as we use our time for this, it is really only of use/ purpose to spend our time on it if it is wanted.

THS is a matching platform for mutual exchanges, and surely many would prefer to for instance have a paid sitter for their pet.

Best of luck.
