Just doing final clean down after short sit and thought better check dishwasher filter, expecting it to be fine as the house is very clean and tidy.
Shock to find full of silt and sludge 
not of our making, made us feel a bit sick thinking pots going through it.
So have you checked where you are?

I never check on sits but at home I regularly run a dishwasher cleaner cycle. It helps prevent limescale build up apart from anything else.

Thanks for this post @Twogreys , which has prompted us to go and check the dishwasher filter (we’ve recently arrived at this sit). And yes, it wasn’t nice! It’s clean now though, thanks to you!
Never checked a dishwasher filter on any of my sits, especially a short sit like yours. It’s the shower plug hole I always check and they can be nasty!

Also the vacuum cleaner roller - on a recent sit it was so clogged up I wondered at first if it was felt, but no, there were brushes buried in there.

Yes, I check the shower trap even in Airbnbs when water is running slow. On one housesit, where I slept in their Airbnb section of the house, I even bought some special brushes to clean the shower trap which was completely clogged. I get strange satisfaction doing this and travel with those little brushes
