Dogs in car crates

@Laurmurf, this is exactly the crate style we used for the dachshund. We had to remove the boot cover (?) so it would fit into the Renault Clio.

Please don’t use the seat-belt clip to attach to the dog’s collar! What happens if you need to brake sharply? These should clip onto a harness, and you can buy harnesses that are specifically for car travel, rather than just general exercise.

If anyone does opt for the dog on the back seat, i recommend getting a ‘hammock’ style seat protector. They are really good, used them for years

I wouldn’t dream of attaching it to a collar!
We always use a harness in any case.
I still prefer the dog crate but, as I said, I’ll try a harness and seatbelt clip before the next sit.

yes, that is what we in UK call travelling in the boot. some boots have an additional guard rail too.

parcel shelf

You need to remove the parcel shelf to fit the dog guard don’t you?

And the parcel shelf needs to be removed to fit the crate in too

Thanks for educating me @RedLassie!
