I have learned from life experience, expectations create suffering. The mindset I choose to come into these experiences with is gratitude and that help me to remain at peace. From that perspective, I kindly can ask an HO for something I need with this energy.

Lol, sorry for LOL, HO are busy getting the house ready, getting themselves ready, they often just don’t even see it, we 85+ sits now have rarely turned up a HS and there are plenty of cleaning supplies for the Kitchen, Bathrooms and Laundry, there’s nearly always dregs left in the Laundry (not enough for us to wash our bed linen or towels we used at the sit)
Toiletries, we always being our own, though there are quite often empty bottles in the Bathrooms, I rinse them out and put them in the recycling along with any other items. Some HS we turn up and there is so many Toiletries there is no where to put your Shampoo/Conditioner and Body Wash, I take a photo, put them all in a Bag out of the way and put them all back at the end of the sit especially if it’s more than 10days.
The HO has packed their items, they are not thinking about their house being occupied and if they have said use the Bathroom Toiletries, they are thinking about that going on their shopping list when they get home.
We did arrive at a Sit once where there was no TP, not even Tissues, Kitchen Roll nothing, turned out they used flushable wipes and had taken the last of the one packet they had left with them for in transit, thankfully I always carry a roll of TP in the Car! lol.
People live in their homes how they live, just like we do when we are at home or if nomads/tiny living we all still have “our ways”
That being said we have mostly had Sits where the HO has thought about things like Kitchen Roll for Pet clean ups, TP in the Bathrooms, Cleaning/Laundry products, we even have some who leave me new Marigolds, new Cleaning Cloths and Kitchen pot scrubber! Which is heart warming and very appreciated.
Happy Sitting.

I carry laundry detergent sheets on sits and some other travels when I know I’ll be washing clothes. That’s because I don’t want to buy detergent and use only a little and leave the rest. Also, you can choose how eco-friendly or skin-friendly your laundry detergent is that way.

Hi @Grandma ! I always plan and prefer to bring, supply, and use my own products. If it’s a short sit, I don’t expect the HO to stock their home, however on long sits it’s very common for the HO to ask and supply the sitter with food, personal products, etc., still I prefer to purchase my own. On one very long sit the HO purchased tons of food that I was willing and able to eat, yet I didn’t touch any of the personal products, as they weren’t ideal for someone with sensitive skin. In my review I thanked the HO for being going over and beyond in preparing and welcoming me into their home.
