Excessive Clutter, dirt and mess

The dispute was resolved in my favor, and I am very pleased with the result. They did not remove her review, but I think my response to her review is sufficient to mitigate the damage to my reputation (though not to my star rating average).

They wrote to me that they understood my reasons for leaving the sit, addressed the issues I raised with the pet parent, and took appropriate action.

In response to some questions I asked them, they said that they do not expect a sitter to clean the home upon arrival as it should already be clean. The pet parent agrees to provide a clean environment as per our Code of Conduct, which states, ‘I will create a clean, comfortable, and secure environment for my sitter.’ They said that since I provided evidence that this was not the case, they have discussed this with the pet parent.

They also responded that they do not expect sitters to stay in an unsafe environment but encourage them to communicate with the owner to improve the conditions for future sits.

They assured me that no action was being taken against me and my account and that they addressed the issue with the pet parent, who will ensure a clean and comfortable environment for future sitters.

Summary:

  • No further action will be taken

Important to note that it wasn’t easy.
When they first got the dispute from her, only with the info SHE provided, they thought she was right. I had gone back and forth with them about 3 times, provided pictures and videos of the house, and explained everything in GREAT DETAIL until they realized I was right.
But it was worth it, because I rely on THS a lot to do things that I otherwise couldn’t afford.
You have to stand up for yourself!

Yes. As soon as y’all told me.

No. When someone raises a dispute THS reaches out to the sitter to get a response. While it took a bit of work to convince them that I’m 100% right, I am sure that as soon as they saw my pictures they realized that there is more to the story than what the HO said

That Owner should get booted from the platform.

Since you did not complete the entire Sit, I wonder if you were able to leave a review? If not, why were they able to review you if you were not able to review them?

No Sitter should ever have to go through that.
