Grocery List

The two blogs that I use regularly are:

Skinny Taste and Budget Bytes

Both of them provide weekly menus and a shopping list that goes with each menu.

I cook for 2 people, and my favorite blog is Skinny Taste. She provides free weekly menus with shopping lists. It might be difficult to adapt to 1 person. Maybe you could buy a half portion of all the items on the shopping list? Not sure if it would be feasible.

Budget Bytes has “meal plans” that you can purchase, which come with shopping lists. I think they are worth every penny. Budget Bytes also has a section called “Meal Prep” which might be useful for you. Basically, you cook a recipe that makes 4 servings, and you have leftovers. If you made 3 recipes (12 servings) per week, you could have most of your lunches and dinners covered.

To me, these blogs are genius, but they are not for everyone! I love to cook, think about food, research food. I find the blogs very inspiring, and they save me money and time.

My list of what I take when driving to a sit is uncannily similar to @Silversitters, with the exception of tuna as the boys won’t eat it! I have slso been known to take my Instant Pot (pressure cooker / slow cooker) on a housesit, and sometimes the air frier on a Christmas sit!

I also do what @DianeS does - take something easy to heat up for the first evening, and try out the local farm shops or community shops.
