I’ve done two, one worked out fantastic the other not so much. The latter left the house in a mess and clearly were not bothered about the sitter experience.
I try to avoid this if possible as I think there’s less buy in from the HO side.

I’ve done over 40 sits and I haven’t met approximately a third of the pet owners. It has all worked out fine. I prefer not to do meet and greets if it costs me too much time and money. I have stayed the night before quite a few times but I don’t like it much. I’d prefer to stay in a guesthouse nearby because as another poster pointed out, there always seems to be some arguing before they head off, due to the stress of packing etc. I don’t like to find myself in the middle of it all, feeling awkward.

I get why you’d not want to be around for that.
It’s crazy that so many couples argue before leaving. I’m thinking there are other problems between them other than filling a suitcase.
