There are forum topics and some sitters feel the booze is there for the taking. Some of us, like me, bring my own wine. I don’t like taking the owner’s food, even if offered. Next time, ask these questions. You will get answers that show you the type of sitter you are getting.
Often when someone posts here about a problem, there is an effort to dig out the “other side”, or to figure out what the OP did wrong to cause the problem. I think people intend to be helpful, but it does give the sense of piling on or hitting someone when they’re down.
It was pretty obvious to me from your first post that you didn’t know that reviews are now blind. I do wish that there was a better way to inform long-time members (both sitters and HOs) who may use THS services infrequently and are not likely to read THS emails and updates between sits - perhaps include that fact in the reminder to leave a review.
ETA - perhaps that is already in place? If so, it’s clearly not working because we continue to have members who don’t know things have changed.
