How to attract more sitters on urgent sit?

@Therese many owners ask for advice on how to improve their listings and none of these threads have been shut down before.

Why is this one being shut down?

Can you help me understand how this discussion is promoting a sit vs seeking advice? It seems no different than the many other posts looking to make a listing more appealing. Thanks.

@Therese The OP is clearly asking for advice, how can this post be seen as promoting a listing??? This is no different to dozens of other topics asking exact same questions regarding their listing :thinking::thinking:

Point taken! I wiill keep the thread active and will edit my post.

Thanks for sharing the listing and adding the detail about BL’s issues with dogs. Given that, is there more you can say about places to walk him to avoid other dogs? I am not available these dates but would certainly have considered if I was sure I could avoid other dogs fairly easily.

Most of my other suggestions have been mentioned earlier:

-Pictures of the rooms where sitter will stay are critical.
-How long are the walks? As a remote worker there is a huge difference between 45 min and 2 hours.
-Tell us you are flexible with the dates in the listing title. Starting on 23rd Dec is much better than starting on the 26th. Starting on 27th could be okay for someone ending a previous holiday sit.
-Will there be get acquainted time with BL? How long and with who?
-Address the coparenting situation more directly and firmly to alleviate the questions others raised. You want to eliminate any reason for someone who is responsible to pass your listing. You don’t want any sitter you want a great sitter!

Good luck!!

I find this very odd that you do not own the property and it is not your dog either. Sounds a bit off to me. If the owner is looking for a sitter then they should be advertising and listing. It is them who need to provide ‘Welcome Guide’ with emergency numbers etc. I would not apply for these reasons alone. If anything happened you could just turn round and say, not my home or dog. IT IS the owner who needs to vet potential sitters. Is the owner aware you are advertising for a sitter in her home? And no photos of bedroom etc.

As I said the dates are flexible to start earlier or later. I should add in my listing that it can be arranged between the 20th and the 5th of January.

Hello everyone, Thank you for your comments here, as some of you have raised concerns about the OP not being the pets owners or it being at their home I have passed this back to the Membership Services team just to assist the member further, so I will temporarily close the post whilst this is looked into.
Thank you.
