I would probably make it the 23rd if you’re comfortable with someone staying with you then mention in your title and intro that the arrival date can be flexible and you’re leaving on the 24th but people can come early if they want. If you’re going from work → airport you’ll be leaving early in the morning anyway so it would make sense to have them come the night before, IMO.

I would definitely change it in your main dates. Once sitters see the date is the 24th Dec they simply won’t click into it to read your text, they simply won’t click, they will have no idea you are open to it being longer. Any other time of year that would be fine.
For a lot of Brits, while Christmas Eve is officially classed as a normal working day, it isn’t in our own heads. There’s only mainly retailers that stay open during normal hours, the bulk of other employers in different sectors sometimes finish early (mainly between 12noon - 2pm), so people can go home to be with their families (or go to the pub to celebrate). From childhood we’re brought up to believe that Christmas Eve is a really special day, it’s family-time and early to bed for Santa coming, it’s a really big thing. Not as big as Christmas Day, but it’s still huge. It’s probably with you being in Luton, and the London connection with all the shops… but most of our employment in the UK doesn’t come from retailers, so the majority will see it as a very special day too.
