Kitchen condiments …

Awww, thank you, Maggie. Kind of you to say.

I travel with herbs and spices and some basic kitchen utensils. A couple years ago I had a sit where the HO told me she didn’t cook much. That’s fine. Not everyone does. I was so glad I had my stash of herbs and utensils. The HO had no cooking utensils. None. Not so much as a spatula or vegetable peeler! The only seasonings were salt, pepper and oregano.

This makes me very glad I’m a totally unfussy eater, who doesn’t cook beyond the basics. I assume any HO will be cool with me using a bit of salt and pepper. Beyond that…What are you supposed to DO with spices and condiments??

Ha! I always say that sitters are welcome to use all and any food that’s in the house…

…but to keep their expectations low as I dont cook beyond basics

I alway ask on arrival when being shown around kitchen what I can and can’t use. This includes kitchen equipment etc. If I use too much of anything I always replace it. I wouldn’t empty anything and not replace it. But we generally create a menu of our meals and take with us all our basics and just buy fresh stuff when there. HO usually do have herbs & spices but may not have exactly what you need for a recipe you are doing. I have also experienced stuff that is really out of date so wouldn’t use any way.
