I also love trains! Not many here. I remember fondly a couple of times years ago when I had a Eurail pass and would just go to a station and see what destination took my fancy! Thanks for the app tip!

Thanks! I would probably stay in one region or nearby region for the whole month. My dream would be one or two sits in a small/medium village/town with lots of nature, yet markets and pubs, with the classic/historic ambience we lack here! I have a lot to learn about the different areas and what they are like, fun reading! I have only been to London, Cornwall and Bath, years ago. A lab or any dog who loves hiking sounds perfect! I will look for that one, thanks!

Thank you, you are always so positive and encouraging! Yes, I am feeling the overwhelm and need to get focused! I will need a good rest before showing up for a sit, so yes, will book something outside of London in the direction I intend! It would be great to have one “anchor” sit confirmed, otherwise I am happy to see where the universe and winds send me! I am just a pensioner visiting the homeland of my ancestors, not a petsitter and remote worker!

@Hikergal That sounds like a plan! We too just ‘go with the flow’ and everything always magically unfolds somehow!
Good tips from @BonnyinBrighton and others. I am also originally from Brighton and, through housesitting, I have explored far more of the SE region than I did when living there! There are so many beautiful regions in the UK but I particularly like my ‘home’ area being near the sea (having been born there) so the SE with the coast and South Downs for wandering are always favourites for us. We too tend to look for ‘anchor’ sits and build around them. I think you will be spoiled for choice!
Have fun planning! And I wish you a great trip! :star_struck:

We are Aussies pursuing UK sits at the moment. We had a great one earlier in the year near Salisbury. We did hire a car which definitely made it doable. There are lots of sits in that area and it is a great part of the UK. Having the funds to hire a car if you need to would open up your options a lot. I have also seen a number of sits in the Bath or Bristol area which is nice and good public transport.
