Update> went from the cat cornering me, attacking me, swatting me, to then (2 days) we were coexisting, ignoring each other, or I gave the eye closing thing a chance, to sleeping on the bed – until the dogs showed up. Today, she came up to me for scratches and pets, even rolled for a belly rub. So it must be the baby thing, new house. Then it realized I petted dogs and was feeding it. So I was OK.
Thanks for the update @Huronbase . So glad that things are working out for you and the cat and that some of the suggestions from forum members were helpful.
Please include this information in your review as a pet who attacks a sitter ( even if it’s only once ) is not permitted on THS.
Future sitters deserve to at least be informed about the pets behaviour so that they can make an informed decision before they apply , confirm or arrive for the sit .
new update. So the cat still is in attack mode, sometimes. We basically have agreed to coexist. But like today. I am on the toilet, it comes up for a head scratch and pet, a few times. Then backs off a bit and when I put my hand out, it swats me. And continues then on the aggressive tack. But not as bad as in the beginning when it would corner me and lunge. I read previous reviews and only the previous one made serious comments about the cat attacking them. Others seemed OK with the cat.
