. I’m from Chicago, IL, USA but been living in Sonora, Mexico on the Sea of Cortez 
since 2018. Hubby (a native Texan) and I live in Mexico 9+ months of the year (we consider Mexico our main home). We use THS for finding sitters for our Mexico home. We spend 3 months a year in Chicago where we have a condo to see my mom and other family & friends. With a cat and a dog, things can get complicated! Now we have Dual Membership and just started sitting.
My husband and I are originally from New Jersey but have been living ‘nomadically’ since 2011 and house sitting since 2014. We do sits both abroad and in the US. Have done sits in about 20 countries.
Right now we are sitting in California–have been here since January and will be remaining through at least the beginning of August, but most likely longer. We spent the bulk of 2025 abroad, mostly in the UK.
Born in Montréal, Québec (Canada). 39 years in Montréal, 21 years in Québec and up to 4 in Trois-Rivières now.

I’m from Queensland Australia, husband from NZ. Met while travelling in Europe (Contiki tour
). We have a home in Brisbane and got into sitting during our brief nomadic stage last year. Hopefully we will do some more this year.
@MTBer I’m curious, when you say you are mostly in Mexico but have a condo in Chicago, does that mean it’s vacant most of the year? Or you do something else with it? Have considered Airbnb for our home when we are away for months, but it seems like a lot of logistics.
@cathie Our initial five years in Mexico, we lived here full-time. I had a Renter in the condo then. For the last three years, while we are not there, we have a long time Friend coming and going keeping an eye on the place. There are a limited number of rentals allowed per the HOA in my boutique condo building, so I can’t do Airbnb and lost my “rental spot” after we took it back over to use for ourselves. If we had a free standing home, or less stringent HOA rules we would probably do Airbnb or similar while we are not using it. It’s nice to be able to travel light between the two places.
I’ve lived in Cheltenham, England since 2007 & rented my home pre & post COVID from 2019 to housesit & travel full time. I returned to my home in July last year for a break from full timeness, but have been doing sits, just less of them. Venturing into paid sits while home & keeping THS sits for foreign travel. Next year I’ll decide whether to re-rent my home or sell it
