Only 5 sitters at once?

I expected to be able to see all:many potential sitters at the same time to compare - but it instead it stops at only 5 until you reject or confirm.

Is there a way to see them all without rejecting anyone?

if I do reject them - can I then still see them and contact them ?

Not very happy about this

Also can’t tell if it’s posted this ?

It has been like that for a few years.
You need to decline unsuitable applications and unpause your listing to receive more.

Yes, you will still be able to see and contact them through your THS inbox. The stuff in there cannot be deleted, only archived.

you can click on their name, and view their profile

why would you reject someone then want to contact them again?

If you reject them they may not want to talk to you. So proceed with caution.

Thanks everyone, I have enough info now.

You are seeing all of the applications- No one else can apply until you reject an application and unpause the listing .

You can Reject any that are clearly NOT suitable for your sit .

You can send a message to the rest that you are considering their application -

Then you can unpause the listing to receive more applications.

I recommend that you act promptly and respond with any of the good applicants- sitters can apply to multiple sits at one time and may get confirmed by another host if you don’t respond promptly.

We have usually had sits confirmed within 24 hours of applying ( that includes a video call ) and often is been even quicker than that( 2-4 hours )

This was put in place because HO’s were incredibly lax when reviewing profiles and would not respond in a timely manner to HS. Additionally, many HOs complained that they were receiving too many apps to process, so 5 app limit was introduced.

if you want more options but still want to consider those you have, just tell folks your process is to decline in order to open up your inbox but make it clear you still want to continue the conversation and are considering them for a sit.

For me though, if it’s not a yes, it’s a no and I would rather ask a clarifying question as needed and promptly let the HS know if it’s a fit or not. Juggling a lot of applications at once for more than maybe a few days (unless you’ve communicated something else to all HS, isn’t really fair).
