@ziggy Update as promised. I don’t seem to be able to edit my precious post to make better sense. I got the housesit as a brand new member on one of the competitors I’ve just joined. Gorgeous home, two easy care cats, and use of car in a very expensive part of Australia. Feeling rather chuffed with my decision to branch out from THS and very impressed with the ease (and lack of stress ie. No 5 app cut off!) of the application and acceptance process. A good experience all round.

Having a car in Australia is almost a must so well done you on such a great result. There are definitely options out there that work without the hassles associated with the process.
It is important to you because you secure I lifetime discount on membership fees when you complete your profile.
It’s also really important for the success of the new platform that you actively use it. The more sits they can have listed, the more interest there will be from others looking to join. There is nothing stopping you listing a sit both on GPS and THS.
I did the winter in southern California this year. So glad after hearing all the reports from everyone in southern Ontario and Michigan. There are plenty of beautiful homes there with pools and hot tubs. I did a month long sit in Orange County. Then on my way back, stopped in Scottsdale with a lovely pool and great hiking trails nearby.
I have completed it by now. And I have secured the discounts available.
Apparently THS didn’t like that and legally challenged their copyright to the reviews. Now you just get an medsage to that effect.

How is it that on that new website there are many sitters with lots of reviews?
Can I ask for info about your source regarding this? Is there a link to a published article somewhere?

How odd, since THS allows us to link to our LinkedIn & AirBnB profiles, recommendations & reviews on other sites.
I wonder why the other site doesn’t just allow people to link their THS profiles? I just tried accessing a THS profile from the web, & can access their review content even when signed out.
When you try to read a review from THS on GPS, there is a message in a yellow box stating a copyright dispute.
I just drop it in my application atm. But no link will help if I leave THS completely, so screenshotting all of my reviews at the end of each sit
I thought it was the reverse. This site did allow THS members to import their reviews and then THs challenged them with legal proceedings and told them they couldn’t do it. They tried to fight but they’re new and small and not sure it worked. #articleinfo
That’s what it looks like from the link you provided.
I’m suggesting that instead of importing the individual reviews, they allow you to link to your THS profile (in the same way THS lets you link to your AirBnB profile.) But, as was noted, if you leave THS your reviews are hidden or deleted after some specified amount of time, I gather.
The main difference is that at Airbnb you don’t pay membership fee, so the link will work as long as don’t decide to cancel your account and delete your data, while at THS the moment you stop paying, the link won’t take you anywhere.
I guess companies favour these links because they can benefit from visits. In the case of THS, they may be fighting this company because it appeared when the fees were introduced in THS and, instead of bringing them business, their growth would largely be based on customers trying to flee from THS.
I also think this forum helps THS monitor this kind of situation.
If anyone else has migrated over to MindMyHouse dotcom you have just received an email that TH is SUING them for migrating OUR reviews, so they are forced to delete them. Apparently TH thinks they OWN our reviews. Shame on them!

Really? Giving THS the benefit of the doubt, this may well be something that they have to do in order to remain compliant with GDPR regulations. Any chance we could have THS’s official response to this please, to avoid speculation @Sam_F ?
THS owns all reviews of members. Other pet sitting sites that do the same exact thing with reviews. You agreed when you signed up and checked the box.
