That comment was made after a quick look. I have now had time to figure out how the site works and allow there are a few duplicates there are many more completely new ones. But alas known in the far snowy North âŚ. Yet.

I have just joined Aussie housesitters. Can anyone comment here on it? So far so good. I wasnât happy with their ID verification process though and what admin stated.
We had a great experience with Aussie Housesitters when we were there for 6 months before the pandemic. Weâll be renewing for our next trip for sure.

yeah, i applied for a house sit and the owner was very accommodating and really keen.
The only issue I have is their verification of ID process which is a separate cost. I am still waiting for admin to assist me with this.
Yes, THS is a very expensive site to use. We also use Housecarers which is an Aussie and has been going decades. There was a time when they didnât have many sits on offer, this was when we joined THS. Not sure if weâll continue next year as the cost for 4 or 5 sits a year, is quite expensive.
I donât recall an expensive id process - perhaps Iâll get a surprise when we renew 
Aussiehousesitters is my favourite Australian site. We used it for our tour in 2019/2020 and had nearly no gaps in our sitting program. Also, funny thing, no one did video calls then! Itâs only once we started with THS that we started doing video callsâŚmaybe we were just lucky!

Why do you think THS is expensive? If youâre a home owner and go away for 2 weeks how much would kennels or a cattery cost? If youâre a sitter, what would that cost you in accommodation?

Well, the sites that donât charge home owners at all but charge the sitters (like kiwihousesitters & aussihousesitters) I feel are very unfair.

@anon27523372 we are members of both Kiwi Housesitters and Aussie Housesitters and have done 42 sits using both platforms over the past 2 1/2 years. They have a much greater presence in this part of the world than THS. These platforms and their affiliates (House Sitters UK, House Sitters Canada, House Sitters America) are user friendly, affordable for house sitters and free for HOâs. They show a reply rating for both house sitters and HOâs (which I explained in detail somewhere way up in this thread). Your reviews appear accross all the platforms to which you are a member, ie., all of our Kiwi Housesitter reviews appear on our Aussie Housesitters profile page and visa versa, and their customer service is outstanding!
Im not sure what problem youâre having with ID verification, but from my memory it was almost instantaneous. If you havenât already, I suggest that you email them. We love these platforms and will be joining Housesitters UK once we are closer to heading to the northern hemisphere in early spring.

This is my perspective, letâs start with that.
I am not going to say there arenât lots of good sites out there.
What I feel and see is that anyone can make the best of what they have at any given moment.
We, as individuals, can really make anything work whenever we choose.
It is not a matter of loyalty, who is better, best whatever.
Everything is always available.
It is our willingness to accept and adapt to what is and to know when and what is right for us in the moment.
Today a thing might be exactly what we need In This moment in X place with X.
We are not tied, bound,or committed to anything except what we choose. This applies to anything, career, job, pet sitting, travelâŚ
So letâs say you donât want to join all the sites that offer what your looking for,
Pick one.
Then make it work.
Give it all you got.
Not working? then ok what can I do different? Vs how can they make it work for me?
Have the flexibility to adapt to get the desired outcomes.
Maybe that requires the flexibility of more than one option,
We are free. That means you are free to choose.
There is no prize, nor does it matter to being the most loyal, most years⌠whatever is applicable.
Like Iâm a long term career.
All you get is a stale cake and maybe watch or some woohoo recognition.
It doesnât matter.
Do whatever is best for you! Always.
