Parkrun fans - what’s been your best sit

I’ve just started parkruns & looking forward to doing sits with nearby runs. If you’re a Parkrun fan - what’s been the best sit & Parkrun you’ve done?

Hi,
I also like sitting near to a Parkrun.
The most surprising one for me was Clapham common in London. My usual Parkrun has around 300 runners each week. Clapham common had 1300, third biggest Parkrun in UK apparently! Very busy but you did get to watch the parakeets while running.

Sounds fab. My local Parkrun averages around 80 but we had 130 last week. Can’t imagine it with 1000s. Did you hear Bushy Park had around 6000 today for its 1000th Parkrun.

We keep saying we will do a park run but haven’t got around to it yet.

We do try to keep up running when we’re sitting though.

This is this mornings attempt!

They are fantastic community events - also you can be a walker and still participate which is great to get people moving more.

Some years back our family used to be regulars at our local Junior Parkrun. Husband was a Run Director, I would volunteer and the kids would take part or volunteer.

We turned out to be rubbish at Pakrun tourism though. Younger son did the Bedford Junior Parkrun on our very first THS sit back in 2019. He quite enjoyed it as he prefers to run on firm paths. Also numbers were significantly lower than Cheltenham, so he got a higher placed finish!

Since then, I have often looked up the nearest Parkrun. I even got myself a wristband when they introduced Parkwalk (I have never mastered running and breathing simultaneously). However we have never since managed to attend one while on a housesit!

So glad you don’t have to share your trainers as well as your best pair of shoes :joy: @Colin . It would have taken you twice as long with one trainer each!

Why didn’t you make it a circular run?

@Smiley Circular runs confuse me because I never know when I’m at the end
