Recommended by someone you don’t know?

Thanks, @Jenny. I could ask the hosts, but figured I would only if I ended up sitting. I didn’t want to ask, since I was putting them off.

as Shaggy sang, It wasn’t me.

I received an invitation I’m not interested in, so I messaged my reasoning. I checked to see they had read it, then chose to decline. As part of that process I was asked did I want to recommend another sitter, so maybe that’s how it these hosts got your name

Wow. Under “normal” circumstances, I would consider this a smart move. However, given the current situation, it feels more like a desperate one, though I could certainly be mistaken.
Regardless, I do not dislike it

I figured that was what happened — the sitter couldn’t repeat. Except that I don’t know her at all.

I’ve also recommended sitters for sits I couldn’t do, when asked, but I did reach out to those sitters first. And I’d seen them for years on the forum.

BTW, I received an automated THS message yesterday that my invitation was canceled, because they’d found a sitter. No surprise, because it looked like a lovely sit.

Ah well alls well that ends well
