Ridiculous requests that made you laugh out loud!

Here’s a great introductory sentence:

*MUST RENT YOUR OWN LARGE CAR SO YOU CAN EASILY GET AROUND THE ISLAND AND TAKE THE PUPS ON HIKES.

And it’s paired with this responsibility section

I scoop litter boxes at least 2 times daily!

I did a sit like that. 4 cats, litterboxes on 4 different levels/floors, a request to clean them twice per day, which I did. And they needed it, as the cats were indoor only. It was a lovely sit and I had no problem with that.

:woman_facepalming:
No other responsibilities are required. Just drive the dogs around all day.

In fact there are some responsibilities stated in the introduction. Enough to put most people off this sit if the welcoming Introductory sentence is not enough. One of the dogs weighs around 170lb and is dog reactive. The responsibilities are stated in the “our daily routine” style, implying sitters have not only to follow the dogs’ routine but also the owners’. If that is not inviting enough, documented training experience is required!

Exactly my dream sit :joy:

Yes, we all do.

I’ve seen some listings where the hosts say to scoop every couple of days. Yikes. To me, that’s a warning signal of a potentially dirty and/or smelly home.

Personally, I scoop as soon as I see new poop or pee, because I’m a clean freak.

Not everyone does. I’ve done several sits where the HOs say they scoop every 2-3 days.

Red flag - sit to avoid! :poop:

I sat 2 cats with 3 litter boxes, and very messy, litter going everywhere. But I find that minimal compared to dog care. No automatic cleaning. just scooping.

I clean cat litters once a day at the very least. Normally twice or more. The more often you do it, the less work! If it isn’t very dirty, the task is a lot more pleasant. The cats appreciate it too.

From a listing:

We would like the sitter to live in our home during our absence so that our cat always has some company. The sitter is to provide fresh food and water daily and to microwave a frozen shrimp or a scallop every morning, and offered to the cat in fine slices. The cat should be brushed and cuddled every evening while singing or speaking in a very tender voice.

@Maggie8K. . . Please tell me you didn’t just make that up. :joy:

Pay a £9 booking fee for each sit when I’ve already paid an annual £99 membership fee.

I will say that watching – and listening – to a cat nom on a scallop is a great joy :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:
