I am having the same problem (UK Based ) It would be interesting to know if this is the “norm”
I have requested a two night sit, so I can “test the waters” but so far, nada.
Cheers
I agree. It is hard;y worth it for only two nights. , especially if they only want you to arrive late the first evening and then be gone just after breakfast of the second nght. Plus on top of that a list to strip and wash the bedding and then also put clean sheets back on and remake the bed. It really isa bit of an effort. They do seem to be far too many sits that are only one or two nights.
It might help to mention in your listing something along the idea of, no end of sit cleaning required or I will change linens after sitter leaves. The majority of sitters are still going to leave your home nice. Just knowing they don’t have to plan to vacuum, run half full dishwasher, change linens, etc. The normal for most sitters leaving is a lot for two nights, and most likely not even needed either. Good luck, I hope you find a good fit in THS.
I’d rather rent a hotel room than bother with short-term sits. Not worth the cleaning, plus no pet responsibilities cutting into limited time.
Two night sits are rarely worth the effort unless you’re lucky and it’s a free weekend or someone’s gap between other sits. Are they easy pets and is it in a popular location? Four nights would be much more appealing in attracting sitters if you’re wanting to try out the platform. #longweekendinstead

We generally only do very short sits 1/2/3 nights if its a gap fill or in some other way convenient. Right now we are doing a 2 night sit in Germany very close to family. It gives us a little break from the (lovely) intensity! ![]()

But it is also a very nice home- a penthouse flat with wonderful views, lovely young family and 2 extremely cute little dogs. This will (hopefully) be a lovely repeat sit. We are their first sitters.
They are kind & generous and don’t have silly expectations. This makes this short sit attractive.
We really enjoy local short term sits and have done quite a bit. I usually ask the homeowners what size bed they have and to just strip it and we bring our own bedding. Makes it so much easier on the departure day - just take our bedding home and wash it. Usually not much to clean up when you’ve only been in the home for a couple of nights and it’s a nice getaway.
I would also suggest that you mention that there is no need to launder or change the bed linen and so long as the sitter cleans up after themselves they don’t need to do anything more.
You may possibly be taken advantage but hopefully not, how much mess could someone make in two days? Personally, I would leave a very small impression on your home.
Often sitters are looking for a stop gap between sits or a new sitter is looking for short sits to gets reviews.
I hope you find someone.
