Sitting without a car logistics

Hi there. I finally joined THS as a sitter after looking into it for quite a while. I did a webinar with Nomadic Network a couple years ago when a sitter from THS introduced us to the organization. I’m excited to get started.
That said, right now, if I take sits outside of driving distance I’d prefer not to have the expense of a vehicle. If the area isn’t walking distance to groceries and restaurants and doesn’t have public transportation options, how do sitters handle it? Uber?

There are many threads on this! Basically, sits list whether or not public transport is available, but it’s always good to ask for details before taking a sit. Some homeowners offer use of the car, but many don’t. Some may have a spare bike you can use, but many don’t.

Car rental, Uber, Lyft, etc are always possibilities.

I don’t sit full time. I usually sit in places near enough to dirve to or with good mass transit.

Home delivery from a supermarket ( arrange online ) we have done this even when we have a car - arranging for it to be delivered shortly after we arrive so we can settle in and don’t have to leave the pets when we’ve only just got there.

I love this idea. Thank you.

If you’ve just started on THS, you ‘may’ stand a better chance of being accepted if you have no difficulty in getting to sit. So if you decide to apply for remote ones then please don’t get demoralised if you get rejections, especially if you don’t have reviews as yet, as a sitter with a car ‘may’ be more favourable for those ones.
