This subject may be a tad on the metaphysical/whimsical side but has anyone else found regardless of the quality of mattress, linens or room comfort some houses just don’t give you a decent sleep? I can’t put my finger on it but just reaching out for others experiences.
Oh, definitely. Houses and rooms all have a certain energy. If you are sensitive to it, you will feel it. If there is bad energy around, it is harder to sleep.
Sometimes I can put my finger on it and it’s flimsy sheet like curtains
Haven’t had trouble falling asleep at sits or anywhere else, but my back hurts if the mattress is too soft.
It would be interesting to correlate Feng shui guidelines for the bedroom with those bedrooms which you find are better or worse for sleep. According to Feng shui, your head should be pointed south or east, plus other things. I always sleep better when on a dog sit, as I get more exercise!
Yes in our experience of a variety of beds it’s to do with orientation- we much prefer our heads to the North feet to the South….. if 180° we get disrupted sleep. No idea why though?
Interesting. The exercise component is on point.
I believe it is advised to be able to see the door lying in the bed. I think it has to do with a feeling of safety.
I have always placed bed in such a direction, without really considering it. It just came naturally that the bed «should» be placed a certain way, and the result was that I’ve been able to see the bedroom door in almost all the bedrooms I’ve had.
That’s a super interesting point @Garfield - I had to move my bedroom furniture around recently as I couldn’t get comfortable with the bed facing away from the door! Now it’s facing the door again and I’m sleeping much better.
@andrealovesanimals if you find yourself in a home with energy that you’re uneasy with, is there anything that you do that makes it more comfortable for you?
