Suggestions for my profile?

Meanwhile I was staying alone for weekends at 13 with no adult and no issues. Every kid is different.

@Peri I had another look at the profile, and the only place I see mention of other countries is in the “Preferred Countries” section. This is automatically populated with all available countries by default, and many sitters never edit it. I doubt most sitters are actively seeking sits in Afghanistan, but that always appears at the top of the default list! I’ve removed a few countries from the list in my profile, but soon lost the urge to go through the whole list, so my list is quite lengthy and includes many countries where I have no plans to sit in the coming years. Maybe one day…

Hi Peri,
My 13 year old travels with us most of the time so we would talk about that for specific sits. My 20 year old is an engineering student who isn’t interested in partying and is an introverted person in general. He has been caring for the animals since he was little. I can see how that might be useful information but I hesitate to add more info if the profile already feels to long.
I am certainly not trying to boast in my profile, just wanting to paint a picture of our lives and values. As Debbie mentioned being involved in those organizations offers an insight into who we are and our abilities, which is why I choose to include them.
Thank you for your comments and your alternate view!

I never even knew that existed. Never saw it on mine. I feel a lot better now that you are not going to possibly dangerous countries far away with an underage minor at home. If that’s what homeowners see on our profiles they must think we are all an adventure bunch, ha!

Hi Debbie,
Thank you for your comments! I think you’re seeing our profile exactly how we intend it. I actually didn’t know about the “preferred countries” section- it was probably in the initial sign up- I will go find it and work on fixing it when I get the time.
My 13 year old would love to stay by herself for extended periods but that’s not on my list for her just yet lol! We have actually never left her for more than a couple of nights her whole life and in those cases she stays with her favorite aunt or her grandparents. I never thought about someone being worried about her staying alone in regards to a house sit though.
I appreciate you taking the time to chat about this, I feel so supported!
