Could you please explain what’s the nuance?
I’m not a native speaker of English and I would think that, used as a noun, it doesn’t sound very well, perhaps it makes more reference to the animal, reproductive meaning but, used as an adjective, as in “female sitter”, I don’t get it. Would “woman sitter” be better? I have never seen “woman” used as an adjective.
