Hello everybody

I hardly need any cash here. Only for the kebab food trucks.
Even small things like an ice cream cone on the street one can pay contactless with Apple Pay etc.
Contactless works everywhere, metro, trains, shops e.t.c. But if, for whatever reason, you need to exchange … get Revolut, exchange (up tp 200 a month) and ATM withdrawal free of charge (as long as the ATM you´re using doesn´t charge)
Some places don’t even handle cash anymore. I would just use your bank card If you don’t want exchange fees for using an international card in the UK, you could download and register for apps such as Revolut, Wise or N26. These allow you to convert money on the app without having to pay any conversion fees. With Revolut, you can also get a physical card, if you want. See these pages for more info:
I usually get cash from an ATM at the airport for incidentals like tips for bellmen and maids if I’m staying at a hotel before or after sits.
Otherwise, Apple Pay.
Whats better Revolut or N26?
And there’s Monzo too much like Revolut TBH London is pretty cashless so a debit card and Apple pay will probably suffice @Wiki - just went home for the first time in a year for 5 days in London and used zero cash on buses, tube, restaurants, shopping etc #cashlesssociety
Indeed there is Monzo, but you have to be living in the UK as a resident to use it. I had to close my Monzo account when I moved away from the UK, because it was useless after that
I have Revolut, and it works really well for me. I’ve never used N26, but I know it works fine too. I like Revolut because it’s really easy to use, you can get a physical Revolut card, and you can also get an e-SIM with it that works globally, instead of having to get a physical SIM card when travelling.
To be honest, I don’t really know. I am sure they all have some pros and cons. For me, Revolut works best. I’ve been with them since the very beginning, since 2015. I also have (just in case) most of the other cards mentioned, including N26, but I’ve never had a chance to test them. There was no need
p.s. I do, however, check online which one is considered to be the best … and the last time I checked Revolut was still in the lead
No worries. I’m out of date @Nagy26
If you’re just going to need a bit for incidentals, you might want to consider whether to bother with getting new accounts or such. Like if I’m going to withdraw £100, then shrug, I don’t care if I pay a bit. The savings are negligible.
Of course, if you frequently withdraw a bunch, you’d stand to save more.
