If this is a Confirmed/Accepted Sit, do you now have access to the Welcome Guide?
If so, that should give you more information about the Hosts and the Sit.
If not, you could request it; tell them you would like it within 2 weeks. Then read it and go from there.
I would not risk doing a Sit in a “great location” if I had a bad gut feeling. Not worth it!

I second the advice to trust your gut. From recent experience, I’m kicking myself for not listening to mine.

Hi @catscatscats24, I was wondering if you have made any progress regarding this sit.
That’s a fair assumption. I didn’t want to share the content just in case they happen to be a member of this forum!
They’re now not replying to my request to for the welcome guide which isn’t allying my worries!
Sounds like you had a bad experience.
No, just awaiting the welcome guide. That said, I’m not at all worried about the pet care so I’m not entirely sure how it will help!
It’s probably just me. I’m very careful with the sits we choose for many reasons so anything that spikes anxiety for whatever reason stresses me out!
Is it worth calling their bluff @catscatscats24 and saying “If we don’t receive the WG within the next 24 hours we will assume you no longer want us to sit for you and cancel. Please note the WG is a key part of THS prep & procedure for all sits.”
It’s not quite a “rule” but it may shock them to do something and put the balance back and reduce your stress levels too? #giveitawhirl

Are you possibly sending them conflicting messages like this? You either want the welcome guide or you don’t.
It was more of a challenging sit because of the stifling house rules. We used the same two cups, glasses & plates & cutlery for the duration. We were accepted without a video call and when I read the Welcome Guide, I sensed the sit would be challenging in not meeting some of the owner’s expectations. I was right. I’m still kicking myself for going ahead with it. Lesson learned.

@lalo2025 Its all a learning curve that’s for sure! Don’t beat yourself up too much- we’ve all been there!
Personally I would not accept a sit (even one I’ve applied to) if the host just responds with a sit confirmation request. I want to have some interaction with the HO first and get a feel for them. I very often have questions that need answering too before making a commitment. Its actually rather arrogant of an HO to assume an application means the sitter will automatically hit confirm- if sent the request- without any personal interaction or opportunity to ask/answer questions.
That feels too transactional.
