Hello all,
While I am aware that indoor cameras are not allowed, what about the ones in the back garden?
I’ve been told by the HOs that they are for safety purpose only, but I have some concern about them…
I enquired with THS support, but they haven’t come back to me yet.
The short answer is external cameras are allowed but have to be disclosed.
If they told you about them, they e disclosed them. External cameras are allowed. The only caveat may be if they are pointing at a window that looks inside (then basically they are interior cameras). But if they are only looking at the back garden, then completely allowed.
It’s hard to tell the peripheral vision of the cameras outside. I sat at one house with more than one backyard camera. One I was certain looked in a bit and only by the personalities of the host. I’ll leave it at that.
I stay in homes with cameras in the backyard and they watch me swim. It is something that is OK with me. They want to see their pets. As long as I have complete privacy in the bedroom and bathroom, a little peek inside the living room from an outside camera may happen.
