Wamos Air substitute for Virgin Atlantic Summer 2026

Has anyone else been shifted to Wamos Air from Virgin Atlantic for a US to UK flight this summer?

Has anyone been on these flights and had any feedback?

I wanted to look into possibly upgrading our seats as our departure date gets closer, but the VA site directs me to Wamos- where you cannot do anything as a passenger.

I’m not familiar with the airline, but just doing some searching around online found this:

Also, on VA’s website:

From what I’ve read, your airline hasn’t actually changed — it’s that VA is doing a lease of Wamo equipment/services to cover routes. The FAQ indicates you can upgrade, check in, & do seat requests on VA’s website/app. If that’s not working for you, I’d give their customer service line a call.

Insofar as upgrading, I’d take a look at the configuration of the airplane they’ve switched you to before deciding whether it’s worth it. Reviews on Wamos vary, but many indicate it’s a lower-cost carrier with older equipment — although some reviews say they’ve been swapping in newer planes & they felt it was an improvement on previous experiences with airlines like Iberia — so sounds like a bit of a mixed bag.

Best of luck!

Thx Merry Puppins. I found the same info and am following a Reddit thread on the subject as well.

Do anything to avoid the 787s. Truly miserable planes even though seating is only 3 across. Curious about staffing - Wamos pilots and Virgin cabin crew?
I’m usually a Delta flyer but have always found the Virgin cabin crews to be consistently ‘friendlier.’ Not that the DL crews aren’t great but Virgin is more ‘fun.’

The Wamos www site has descriptions of each of their 13 planes - I didn’t look at all of them, but the 4 that I looked at were each different - 1 had the 3 across VA 787 type seats, 2 had the more typical 4 across business but different seats, 1 had only 1 row of business.

Thanks, I have read that also. Our flight is on am A330, so fingers crossed
